DOUGLAS RALPH BRISTOW

Douglas Ralph Bristow, 78, of Gloucester, died March 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by family.

Ralph was a native of Gloucester, and a graduate of Botetourt High School. He was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church, Woodmen of the World, and Farm Bureau. Ralph was a retired farmer whose love for farm life was reflected in his everyday living. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoor life. He loved his family and will be dearly missed by all.

Ralph was the son of the late Charles F. Bristow Sr. and Alice Booker Bristow. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Bristow Wyatt, Countess B. Dutton, Madeline B. Pointer and Elsie B. Rich.

He is survived by wife, Kathleen Bristow; daughter, Karen Bristow; son, Kevin Bristow and wife Heidi; grandchildren, Ryan and Logan Bristow; brothers, Charles F. Bristow Jr. and James R. Bristow, David V. Bristow, and a host of nieces and nephews

Graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. Rita Staul was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Olive Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
