Douglas Norman Ashberry, 65, of Mathews, Virginia, passed away at his home on Monday, Aug. 10, 2020. He was a member of Mathews Baptist Church and Poplar Neck Hunt Club. He worked at the Naval Weapons Station for 27 years and retired in 2007. After retirement, he worked for Chimney Corner Lawnmower Service for five years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Ashberry; two daughters, Amy Ashberry and Megan Ashberry, both of Mathews, and a sister, Eileen Lemon of Bedford, Virginia.

The family received friends on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow in H.C. Smither Cemetery, Hudgins, Virginia.
