Douglas Chester Hoadley Sr., age 90, died at his home in Williamsburg on Saturday, April 12, 2025. He was a native of Farmington, New Hampshire, and son of the late Emory J. and Virginia Belle Hoadley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding as a designer and member of the Aeronautical Weight Engineers. Sons, Douglas C. Hoadley Jr., Donald L. Hoadley, and siblings, Marilyn Chase and Judith Thurston, preceded him in death. Douglas is survived by his wife, Alice Marie Hogge Hoadley; son, Daniel P. Hoadley; three grandchildren, Shawn, Matthew, and Sara; great-grandson, Jackson Hoadley, and a sister, Nancy Blair. A graveside service conducted by the Rev. Richard Croxton will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Rosewell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors.
