DOSSIE M. HARMON

Dossie M. Harmon of Cobbs Creek, passed away peacefully Friday morning, July 17, 2015, after a brief illness. She was 92.

Dossie was a native of Greeneville, Tenn., and had made her home in Mathews, Va., for over 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Claudia and Bill Fanning of Greeneville, Tenn.; the widow of J.T. Harmon, and the mother of the late Junior Harmon and Sandi Chapman.

Dossie is survived by her daughters, Brenda Duffie of Danville, Va., Doreen Harmon and Susie Harmon of Mathews; her son, Charles Jones of Greeneville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Jollie Duffie (Laurie), Liz Searfoss (Jeff),  Randa Williams, Rob Chapman, Josh Jones, and Blair Jones, along with great-grandchildren, Halle Duffie, Jeff and Cole Williams, and her special “family,” the Buckleys.

Dossie was a devoted and faithful member of Westville Baptist Church. She enjoyed all church activities and loved spending time with her church friends. She had a knack for gardening and raising beautiful flowers. She treasured the family dogs, Max and Jax, and loved telling stories of their mischief. She was a devoted mother with a kind heart and she will be greatly missed.             

The family received friends on Sunday, July 19, 2015, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral service was held on Monday, July 20, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at Westville Baptist Church, 105 Main Street, Mathews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westville Baptist Church, Mathews.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, was in charge of the arrangements.
