Doris Mae Morse Brooks, 79, of Mathews, Virginia, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the home of her surviving son, Ron Brooks (Janice), in Suffolk, Virginia.

She is also survived by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Doris was predeceased by her husband, George Ulysses Brooks; her sister, Adrienne Smith; her mother, Nora Morse; her father, Russell Morse Sr.; her brother, Russell Morse Jr.; her nieces, Patrice Bellinger and Linda Robinson, and nephews, Brian and Kevin Smith. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cobbs Creek, with Pastor Eric Robinson officiating.
