‘Don’t let fear hold you back,’ GHS valedictorian tells classmates

Gloucester High School celebrated its 63rd annual commencement ceremony on Saturday, graduating 368 students at William and Mary Hall in Williamsburg.
In her remarks to the audience, class valedictorian Campbell Farina told her fellow graduates to not be impeded by fear. She offered some words of inspiration through quotes of well-known authors, fictional characters and some sayings of her classmates.
Among her citations was one from author J.K. Rowling, “It’s our choices that show who we truly are far more than our abilities” and one from Meredith Grey of Grey’s Anatomy, “Don’t let fear keep you quiet. You have a voice so use it. Whatever it takes just find your voice.”
Farina also offered her own advice, saying “Don’t let fear hold you back or take away a single piece of who you are or what you want to be.”
