DONNA PITTS STERLING

Donna Pitts Sterling, 63, of Dutton, loving wife and mother, was taken to Heaven on Dec. 5, 2013 after a courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer.

She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Donna was the most caring nurse and so compassionate for everyone. She retired from Williamsburg Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was always thinking of and doing for others. Her family came first always, and she would change her plans in a second if she knew her daughters or granddaughter were stopping by. We will miss her beautiful smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. Pitts and Kaye S. Pitts.

She is survived and utterly missed by her husband, Franklin Wayne Sterling; daughters, Melanie S. Hamilton and husband Jeff, and Stephanie S. Hutson and husband Neale; granddaughter, Haley Marie Hamilton; sister, Linda Pitts Soucek and husband Howie; sisters and brothers-in-law; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, many caring friends; dog, Mattie and cat, Oreo.

A Celebration of Life service conducted by the Rev. Tom Cohick was held at 12 noon on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Beulah Baptist Church. Inurnment followed in Windsor Gardens Cemetery. The family received friends Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
