Donations sought to help with air ambulance trip costs

The Dehnert Medical Relief Account is now receiving contributions at Chesapeake Bank. This account was established by Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Mathews to help the family of the late Kathryn Dehnert meet the costs of an air ambulance trip from Puerto Rico to Norfolk.

Fund organizer Chuck Dawson said donations are sought to offset the $25,000 flight. He said that while on a vacation cruise, a gift from her daughter, Dehnert became critically ill and was airlifted to Puerto Rico. After six weeks there, the air ambulance brought her back to Virginia where she died a few days later.
