The all-volunteer Mathews County Christmas Store is seeking donations for the annual holiday event that provides a holiday shopping experience for over 680 county residents in need.
Everyone who participates in the Christmas Store is able to shop, at no cost, for brand-new housewares, small electronics, linens, toys and bikes, outerwear, personal products, beauty products, and holiday decorations, said a press release. Children are also able to write and send letters to Santa Claus and shop for small presents for their parents and guardians.
Numerous local organizations partner with the Mathews County Department of Social Services each year, and a dedicated group of volunteers and donors work year-round to make the store happen, said the release.
Heading the list of needs for this year is monetary donations.
