Donald Windfield “Donnie” Forrest, 71, of Bavon, Virginia, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Riverside Mathews Convalescent Center.

Donnie was born on Aug. 9, 1945 in Mathews. He was a hard worker and very loyal to his family and friends. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Haywood Forrest; parents, James Windfield and Thelma Forrest; his brother, James Carroll Forrest, and his sister, Norice Elizabeth Forrest.

Donnie is survived by his daughter, Christy Duff and her husband Chris; sisters, Barbara Smith and husband Carroll Melvin, and Almara Slaughter; brother, Buddy Gene Forrest and wife Carol, and grandchildren, Brandon and David Michael Harrison.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at New Point Friends Church, Susan, Virginia.
