DONALD LOUIS BECKER

Donald “Don” Louis Becker, 64, of Gloucester, died peacefully on April 13, 2013 at his home.

He was born in a small seaside town in New Jersey where his love of the water began. He was a shipmate and a charter boat captain, loved being on the water having been the owner of numerous boats. Don was an outdoor person with interests in fishing and hunting, sometimes just setting and watching the deer and other animals as they roamed and grazed. He would enjoy watching the birds come to the bird feeder and the squirrels running to and fro.

Don loved to grill and enjoyed camping where he never met a stranger, relaxing on the weekends at a local campground, setting with friends happily exchanging fish stories and special river locations. Don was a gardener and enjoyed sharing his bounty. Don spent 10 short years with Revere Gas Company, as store manager and accounts representative.

Don had a great sense of humor, was witty and loved a good joke. He was a member of the Abingdon Ruritan Club.

He is survived by his wife, Annessa; children, Gineane Stalfort, Amanda Becker-Ahbab, Jonathan Becker and Elicia Franchini; two sisters, and six grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Ware River Yacht Club, 5992, Ware Point Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
