DONALD DUNSTON

Donald Dunston, 81, of Hayes, passed away on June 29, 2020. Donald was born on Dec. 29, 1938 to Zelda and Edwin W. Dunston.

Donald served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1967. He worked for the U.S. Department of Transportation (Maritime Division) as a Tugboat Captain and later retired in 2001. If he was not fishing or gardening, you could find him in his garage tinkering with boats, cars, lawnmowers, and anything else he could find.

He loved having his family and friends nearby and always had an open invitation for them to visit.

Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret Dunston; daughter, Lisa Dunston; parents, Zelda and Edwin W. Dunston; his brother, Pete, and his sister, Bernice Dunston.

He is survived by his daughter, Terry Coates of Gloucester; his brother, Mitchell; stepchildren, Mike Freeman of Gloucester, Pam Bachman of Pasadena, Maryland, and Jim Freeman of Baltimore, Maryland. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, John Coates, Michael Coates, Chris Harris, Ashley Bailey, Joshua Perkins, Jared Perkins, Troy Hopkins, Corinne Bachman, Chad Bachman, Stephanie Plourde, and Nick Freeman. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends, too numerous to count.
