Dominion Virginia Power working to restore service to customers affected by violent storm

Dominion Virginia Power crews are assessing damage and working with local emergency personnel today to return electrical service to more than 900,000 customers, focusing first on public health and safety facilities including public cooling locations.Work will continue around the clock during the multi-day restoration effort. “With triple-digit temperatures and high humidity expected for the next several days, Dominion is urging all residents – especially the elderly and young children – to take precautions and seek relief at cooling shelters, public libraries or similar facilities if appropriate,” said Rodney Blevins, vice president of electric distribution operations. “We will restore power as quickly and safely as possible in these challenging conditions.”
