Dollar General, a discount retail chain, announced Aug. 17 that it plans to open a new store on Route 17 at Woods Cross Roads early next year.
Dollar General sells name-brand and private brand merchandise such as health and beauty products, home cleaning suppliers, housewares, stationery, seasonal items and basic clothing, spokesperson Laura Somerville said. Also, its stores sell an assortment of packaged foods, as well as some refrigerated and frozen foods.
Its private brands carry a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, Somerville said, while the new store will also stock some of the country’s most-trusted brands such as Procter and Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, Kellogg’s, General Mills and Unilever.
Dollar General has other local stores at Gloucester, Hayes, Mathews, Hartfield, and Shacklefords.
