Dock renovation

Renovations to Town Point Landing in Mathews were underway last Thursday, with the White Stone firm Docks of the Bay performing the work. When completed, the boat ramp at the mouth of Put-In Creek, giving access to East River and Mobjack Bay, will have new seawalls on both sides and a wider dock. In addition, the concrete pad for the boat ramp will extend farther upland, toward the parking lot, and there will be a gravel-based launch for canoes and kayaks on the adjacent shoreline. The $245,000 renovation is a joint project of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Virginia Marine Resources Commission.
