Discovery sunrise

Photographer Paul Stevens, who resides in Achilles and Cocoa Beach, Fla., captured this image Tuesday of the Shuttle Discovery, mounted on a Boeing 747, as it wings its way to Patrick Air Force Base in Florida before turning around and heading back up the East Coast to its final destination in Washington, D.C. The shuttle will spend retirement as a museum piece at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum facility in Chantilly. This last flight marked the official end of NASA’s space shuttle program.
