Director named for Riverside fitness centers

Rance Bryant was recently named the director of Riverside Health System’s wellness and fitness centers in Gloucester and Newport News.

An Arkansas native, Bryant joined Riverside in April. He said he plans to increase the community focus of both centers.

“I have been in Arkansas my whole life and never left,” Bryant said. “When the opportunity to come to the Riverside team came open, and I looked into the community and the health system, we were willing to move. Everyone here has that southern hospitality I know and love. When you’ve been somewhere for 44 years, you want to go somewhere you will feel welcome. I feel welcome.”

Bryant attended Arkansas State University, where he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in exercise physiology. Before joining Riverside, Bryant worked at St. Bernards Medical Center, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the Conway Regional Medical Center as the Director of the Health and Fitness Center.
