Dreamcoat Dog Spa, located at The Point Shoppes at Gloucester Point, has welcomed a new Senior Pet Stylist. Diana Butler, a Gloucester local, fell in love with dog grooming after responding to a training ad in the newspaper almost 20 years ago. Though Butler went through cosmetology school to work on human hair, she ultimately found her passion with pet hair. “I just love dogs,” said Butler. “If you ever get frustrated with dog grooming, all you have to do is look at them and all your frustrations go away … I do love doing people’s hair, but I just have so much more joy and passion for dog grooming.” Part of her enjoyment comes from learning the quirks of each dog and ensuring they feel safe and comfortable, and enjoy their time getting groomed. “I love their personalities,” she said. Previously, Butler worked for the grooming department at Petco in Williamsburg and has been slowly transferring to Dreamcoat since June, officially becoming a full-time stylist Aug. 1.
