Devils defeat Pointers, 8-4, avenging earlier loss

The Mathews High School baseball team improved to 4-2 overall following Tuesday’s 8-4 victory over West Point. The Blue Devils’ win also avenged a loss earlier this month to the Pointers.

Daniel Moughon pitched all seven innings and was the winning pitcher. His record on the mound is now 3-0 this season.

Aidan West had two hits and three RBIs and Brady Wright had a big hit driving in two runs. Dawson Adams and Will Jackson scored two runs each.

Today, the Blue Devils travel to Middlesex. The team will host Surry on Tuesday. Both games start at 5 p.m.
