The Mathews County Board of Supervisors held a special meeting Tuesday morning to discuss the performance of the deputy county administrator/clerk and to obtain legal advice regarding employment law. After convening, the board immediately went into closed session.
In less than an hour, the board returned to open meeting and accepted the resignation of Deputy County Administrator Julie Kaylor, which was tendered on March 23. Kaylor gave two weeks’ notice, with her last day of work scheduled for April 6. She was not present at the board meeting.
In an email exchange following the meeting, Kaylor declined to comment on the matter.
