YaZu Yachting of Deltaville is celebrating its first anniversary today, July 1.

The yacht brokerage firm opened during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. A year later, boat sales are booming, and they have hired another broker to help build the business, a release said.

Owners Jonathan and Anne Hutchings have been based in Deltaville since 2005 when they established a branch office of Annapolis Yacht Sales in Deltaville. Over the years they have built their network and their reputation in the boating industry by building relationships with customers and service providers.

“Our network, the COVID pandemic and our longevity in the industry has helped tremendously in giving YaZu Yachting a ‘flying start,’” said Jon Hutchings. “No one could foresee the demand for boats at the start of the pandemic, but people soon realized it is the best way to get away from the cities, socially isolate and spend time with the family.
