Deltaville museum, park celebrates 20th anniversary this weekend

The Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park will celebrate its 20th anniversary opening weekend with a Shrimp and BBQ Dinner and Dance on Friday at 287 Jackson Creek Road, Deltaville.

Social hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6, and the four-part harmony of The Taters at 7.

On Saturday, the park will open at 9 a.m. with the Holly Point Market, featuring arts, crafts, cheeses, home goods, food, and live music beginning at 10 o’clock by David Moran on guitar and Dan Theuerkauf on percussion.

The museum will hold an open house on Saturday, with a look at the new Pavilion, boatbuilding machinery exhibits, and the expansion plans for the museum complex. There will be a car show and free creek cruises on the deadrise “Jennie May.”

Saturday will see back-to-back concerts by Tom Euler, performing solo at 5:30 p.m. and with his trio at 6 o’clock. Tickets are $15 in advance, available at the museum office, on the museum website at deltavillemuseum.com, and a...
