Deltas’ win streak reaches 7 games

The Deltaville Deltas wrapped up an unprecedented schedule of nine games in 12 days on Sunday, capping it off with a 5-1 extra innings win in Richmond. The Deltas went 8-1 over the stretch, including winning all five games played since last week.

The Deltaville team returns to action tonight with a road game against the Richmond Mets, before returning home for a 7:30 home game on Saturday night against the Richmond Orioles.

Deltas 10, Mets 4

Deltaville plated eight runs in the first two innings, while pitcher Brian Owens dominated in five innings of relief, as the Deltas won, 10-4, over the Richmond Mets on June 27.

The Deltas’ offense came out firing in the early innings, and a five-run second inning was capped by a Tyler Wood home run over the towering left-field wall at Highland Springs High School.
