Deltas win regular season title; look to repeat as playoff champs

The Deltaville Deltas secured a three-peat. Now they are aiming to repeat.

The Deltas held on to defeat the Tappahannock Tides by the score of 4-3 in Saturday night’s regular season finale, securing their third consecutive Richmond National Adult Baseball Association regular season title.

Now the Deltas will refocus, as the records reset on Saturday, and Deltaville must take on the other top three teams in the league to win back-to-back playoff championship titles.

The league playoffs will be played at a neutral field, Richmond’s James River High School, over the next two weekends. Seeded first by virtue of their 13-1 league record, the Deltas will take on the #4 seed, which will be either the Richmond Orioles or Tappahannock (a set of rained-out makeup games are still to be played this week, which will determine the final seeding). First pitch for the Deltas versus the #4 seed will be 4 p.m. Saturday.
