Deltas sweep weekend series

Jacob Houston, Spencer Crittenden, and Jay Sewer combined to go 14-for-18 at the plate over two games last weekend, as the Deltaville Deltas’ lineup pounded out 31 runs in victories over the Richmond Smokies and the Richmond Yankees.

With the wins, Deltaville moves to 6-0 on the season, in solid control of first place in the Richmond NABA-East standings.

Deltaville returns to the field twice this weekend, including its first road game of the year. On Friday, Deltaville travels to Essex High School to take on the Tappahannock Tides at 7 p.m., and on Saturday the Deltas return home for a 7:30 p.m. matchup against the Richmond Braves.

Deltas 13, Smokies 7

The Deltas rebounded from a 5-3 deficit with a seven-run fifth inning, and held on to defeat the Richmond Smokies on Friday night in Deltaville.
