The Deltaville Deltas ran into a wall in the opening round of the Richmond NABA playoffs this past weekend, but rebounded to advance as one of the final three teams and remain in contention for their second consecutive league playoff championship.
The top-seeded Deltas fell to the #4 seed Tappahannock in their opening game by a score of 3-1, but rebounded in the elimination bracket of the double-elimination tournameant, defeating the #3 seed Richmond Mets, 7-4, on Monday.
Deltaville awaited the loser of the winners’ bracket game between #3 Tappahannock and #2 seed Richmond Team Woody, which was played Tuesday night. The winner of the Tappahannock-Richmond game will advance to this Saturday’s championship, while the loser of that game squared off against the Deltas on Wednesday night for the opportunity to play in the championship on Saturday.
