Deltas rout Cubs, 22-0

The Deltaville Deltas rolled to an easy victory Saturday night, piling on 22 runs against the Caroline Cubs in a shutout victory.

The Deltas return to the field for a pair of home games this weekend. The Richmond Smokies come to town for their first game of the season Friday, as they come off an 11-3 season in 2020, during which they competed for the NABA championship. On Saturday night, the Richmond Yankees come to town for their inaugural game. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. at Deltaville Ballpark.

In Saturday’s win, the newly formed Cubs of Caroline County were simply overmatched by the Deltas’ offense. Deltaville plated 6 runs in the first inning thanks in part to RBI hits from Scott Crump and Chris Blake. In the second, the onslaught continued, with Deltaville sending 18 batters to the plate and coming away with 12 runs in the frame.
