Deltas repeat as league champions after falling into elimination bracket

Before winning their 2017 league championship, the Deltaville Deltas had not captured a league title in 13 seasons. Last weekend, they made it clear they didn’t want to start another trophy-less streak again.

Deltaville came through the elimination bracket of the National Adult Baseball Association Richmond league tournament and defeated unbeaten Richmond Team Woody in consecutive games to capture their second consecutive league tournament Deltaville.

Despite coming into the playoff tournament as the top seed, the Deltas fell into the elimination bracket of the double-elimination tournament when they fell to the fourth-seeded Tappahannock Tides in the opening round. But the Deltas took the gut-check loss in stride, and went on to win four consecutive games in seven days, eliminating the third-seeded Richmond Mets, rebounding to eliminate the Tides, and then defeating the unbeaten Team Woody this past Saturday and Sunday. 

The Deltas finish their season with a 19-2 overall...
