Summer league wood-bat baseball returns this weekend as the Deltaville Deltas kick off their 2026 season on Saturday night at the Deltaville Ballpark.
The Deltas are returning a strong roster which looks to expand on last year’s 15-3 season record. New additions include a trio of Regent University players, including former Gloucester High School all-region infielder Trevor Richardson and former Middlesex High School all-region pitcher Kaden Hunley. Gloucester all-state outfielder Dylan Deyoung, now at Christopher Newport University, will also join the Deltas.
An off-the-field addition this season will be a couple of voices over the air—104.9 WIGO’s Demetrius Means and Josh Suszek will be broadcasting home games from Deltaville Ballpark. The grandstand will also be more comfortable this season with the addition of large ceiling fans to move the air on those warm summer nights.
Saturday’s opening game will be against another NABA playoff contender, the Richmond Trash Pandas. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Admission to Deltas games is cash-only, $8 for adults, $4 for teens, free for ages and under.
