Deltas maintain hold on first place

The Deltaville Deltas took two out of three games in a series against the Peninsula Cardinals last weekend, splitting a Saturday night doubleheader and overcoming an early deficit to win on Sunday.

With the wins, the Deltas improved to 13-3 on the season, and hold a one-and-a-half game lead over second-place York.

This Friday night, the Deltas host the Tappahannock Tides at Deltaville Ballpark on "104.9 WIGO Country Night." WIGO will be giving away tickets to the game all week, and one lucky fan at the game will take home $104.90. The game starts at 7:30.

The Deltas visit Tappahannock on Sunday, in a 5 p.m. game at Essex High School.
