Deltas capture regular season title; championship series next

The Deltaville Deltas completed their regular season slate last weekend, winning a pair of hard-fought games which they hope will serve as a preparation for the championship playoff.

Deltaville finished the regular season without a loss, recording a record of 15-0-1 overall and 12-0-1 in league play, easily earning the top seed in the Richmond NABA East division. Richmond Team Woody, which Deltaville played to a 7-7 tie in early July, captured the west division title, with a 10-2-1 record.

Tappahannock and Heathsville finished in second and third in the east, respectively, and face off this week to determine who will play Deltaville in Sunday afternoon’s semifinal. The Richmond Brewers and Richmond El Heaters likewise finished second and third in the west, with the winner of that quarterfinal facing Team Woody. The winners of the semifinal matchups will play a three-game championship series next week.
