Della Diggs Rowe Forrest, age 92, of Gwynn’s Island, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Lee Forrest; three sons, Edwin Carroll, James Lee Forrest, Edgar Winfield Forrest, and a grandson, Christopher Forrest.

She is survived by one son, Raymond H. (Rainbow) Forrest of Reedville, Va.; one sister, Ruby Atkins of Gwynn’s Island; two brothers, Jack and Shelton Rowe of Gwynn’s Island; grandchildren, Timmy, Steve, Edwin Curtis, Joseph Keith, and Perry Mason Forrest, Lynne Vencill, Bonnie Sue Bruno, Cindy Price and Sharon Williams; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.

The family received friends Saturday, March 17, 2012, from 7-9 p.m. in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. Graveside services were conducted Sunday, March 18, 2012, at 4 p.m. in the Gwynn’s Island Cemetery.
