Delia Ray to speak at Book Author Luncheon

Author Delia Ray will be the featured speaker at the York River Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons’ 25th annual Book Author Luncheon, which will be held at noon on Friday, March 23 at Providence Baptist Church, Ordinary.

A graduate of Gloucester High School and the University of Virginia, Ray is the daughter of Gloucester residents Bobby and Ed Ray. She now makes her home in Iowa City, Iowa. She is married to Matthew Howard and is the mother of three daughters.

She has published three non-fiction books about American history and four novels for young readers. Her books have received numerous starred reviews and been nominated for Children’s Choice lists in 10 states.

A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Ray began her career writing nonfiction books that bring to life interesting aspects of American history. Recently she has moved into writing fiction.
