Delays start Monday for line removal at Norris Bridge

Dominion Energy will remove utility lines attached to the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River, and drivers on Route 3 between Lancaster and Middlesex counties can expect brief travel delays as crews position the necessary equipment to safely remove the lines.

From Monday through July 2, Dominion Energy crews will install equipment to start the removal process. Brief traffic stops up to 15 minutes during daytime hours are possible, but all travel lanes will remain open at other times.

On July 13 through July 15, Route 3 will be reduced to a single lane on Norris Bridge between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. One-way alternating traffic will be directed on the bridge.

On July 27, a single-lane closure is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with one-way, alternating traffic on the bridge.

Real-time updates on lane closures for this work zone will be available through 511Virginia. Download the free mobile 511Virginia app to stay connected, visit 511Virginia.org or call 511...
