Delano Edward Leager Sr. of Moon, Va., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, in Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and was the son of the late George Edward Leager and Winifred Agnes Snyder Leager.

He was the owner of Dels Plumbing, and had served in the U.S. Navy. Del was a very generous man and highly respected by everyone and had a great sense of humor.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, George, Byron, Bernice, Margie, and Betty.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Leager; his children, Denise Smith and her husband Daniel, Winifred Leager, Delano E. Leager Jr., Patricia Parks and her husband Thomas, and Robert Leager; his sisters, Patricia Benefield and Eleanor Caldwell; 17 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. in Salem United Methodist Church in Diggs, Va.
