Decorating for Christmas is a passion for this Mathews family

From the back porch to the living room, the Pine Hall Road home of Sarah and Pete Crockett is a Christmas wonderland.

With Christmas trees, wreaths, mantel and table decorations, collections of angels and carousels, lights and garlands hung in every nook and cranny, bells jingling and carolers singing, and dozens of Santa Clauses, large and small, the Crockett house says “Merry Christmas” in a thousand ways.

This labor of love usually begins right after Halloween and involves decorating every single room in the house, including the bedrooms. This year, however, Sarah was a bit tired so she didn’t start until Thanksgiving, and the bedroom wing didn’t get the usual treatment. So, instead of 15 Christmas trees, there are only 10.

“I wake up in the morning at one or two o’clock and she’s in here decorating,” said Pete. “She stays up most of the night.”
