Dec. 7 deadline to sign up for NewGen Peacebuilders

NewGen Peacebuilders, a program open to students in grades 9-12 from Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex and West Point schools, is recruiting members for its spring 2019 extracurricular program, with a deadline of Friday, Dec. 7.

Sponsored by the Gloucester, Mathews, Gloucester Point, Middlesex and West Point Rotary clubs, NewGen Peacebuilders is an award-winning global peace education, training and mentoring program that equips young people to build peace in their communities, countries and the world, a release stated.

The multi-school cohort of students will participate in a series of five interactive workshops in January and February. They will work on their peace projects from February through April, with a celebration and presentation of peace projects to be held April 26.
