David Todd Shackelford, 46, of Gloucester, passed away on his birthday, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at his home.

He was born in Newport News, Va., and was a mixer-driver for Rappahannock Concrete and was a member of Newington Baptist Church. He was a professional musician and was the lead guitar player of the Crazy X Band, The Shades of Country, and also for the Mullins Sisters. He was a loving father and husband.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Garrett Shackelford.

He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Shackelford; his children, Garrett, David, Dustin, and Krystal; his mother, Mildred Scott Shackelford; brother, Edward Scott Shackelford, and his grandsons, Caiden and Austin.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, from 6:30-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home by the Rev. Michael Gray and the Rev. Don Forrest. Burial was in Newington Baptist Church Cemetery.
