David Paul Carter, 60, of Hayes, Va., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at his home.

He was born at Ft. Eustis, Va., and was the son of the late Render and Alisa Craig Carter. He was employed at East Coast Boat lift in Urbanna, Va., and had served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lynn Carter; children, Amanda Braid Butcher and David Paul Carter II; brother, Robert A. Carter; grandchild, Braida Seren Butcher, and nephew, Nicholas Caster.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at his home on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, from 1-3 p.m.
