DAVID LEIGH WHITE

David Leigh White, DDS, 82, of Hayes, died peacefully at his home April 14, 2018, surrounded by family, faith and love. 

Doc, as he was known, was born May 9, 1935 to Clarence M. and Laura B. White. He served his country in the Air Force, and practiced dentistry for 40 years in Urbanna, Gloucester, Mathews and York County. Doc was a member of Abingdon Episcopal Church, Achilles Masonic Lodge AF & AM, No. 281, Khedive Shriners, Jesters, Abingdon Ruritan Club, Commodore Mathews Yacht Club, and former member of the Moose Lodge. Doc was a devoted husband and father, loyal friend and caring dentist. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Harold White.

Doc is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruth White; sons, Michael White, Robert White and David White (Racheal); grandsons, Jordan White and his mother Lori, and Collin White.

A Celebration of Life officiated by the Rev. Sven vanBaars will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Abingdon Episcopal Church. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
