DAVID INFIELD HUGATE

David Infield Hugate, age 72, died April 7, 2011 at his home in Bullard, Texas, after a year-long bout with cancer.

David was born and reared in Mathews County, Va., but also lived in Gloucester County for quite a few years before making his home in Texas.

David was a tractor-trailer truck driver by trade.

He was a Korean War veteran with the U.S. Army.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Hugate and Marion Sadler Hugate.

Survivors include his wife Hazel of Bullard; one son, John David Hugate of Ewing, N.J.; three daughters, Yevonne Hugate Abdelnoor of Charleston, S.C., Teresa Hugate Jenkins of Gloucester County, Sandra Hugate Jenkins of Gloucester County; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one-on-the-way; one brother, Milton Hugate of Mathews County; three sisters, Elizabeth Hugate Hudgins of Virginia Beach, Va., Margaret Hugate Story of Pass Christian, Miss., Jean Hugate Gatlin of Beaver Falls, Pa., and his loving dog companion, Ranger.

Hilliard Funeral Home in Van, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.
