David Ellis Berry, 67, of Bena, died at his home on Feb. 28, 2018.

A resident of Gloucester County, he lived his 67 years at Bena. He retired from Eastern State Hospital. David made friends easily and would help anyone at any time. He was one of the founders of the Buck Rowe Coffee Club, where many men of the neighborhood gathered early in the morning at Buck’s store drinking coffee, laughing and enjoying good fellowship with each other. David enjoyed watching old western movies, especially “Gunsmoke.”                                                                                                     

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Berry Sr., and brother, Robert F. Berry Jr.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Berry; daughter, Heather Stinson and husband Jason; his mother, Bessie R. Berry; sister, Susan Ronk; grandchildren, Joshua, Allyson and Chloe Berry, Madison and Grant Hartman, and Hunter and Blair Stinson, and his faithful dog, Zoey.

At David’s request, services will be private.
