David Darron Palmer, age 60, of Gloucester, died on Monday, March 30, 2026. David was born on July 1, 1965 in North Carolina to the late Max and Joyce Palmer. David loved to learn; he was always taking classes to further his education in something that he couldn’t understand. He even took a sewing class to learn how to repair items himself. He enjoyed staying fit and working out. He came from a family of Georgia Tech football fans, attending many games and tailgates. He had a green thumb, growing a vegetable garden, lots of flowers, and various other plants. He was meticulous, and any job he set his mind to, “no contractor could have done it better.” His kids enjoyed all the memories made through the lessons he taught them growing up. David is survived by his wife, Maria; his children, Rebecca Palmer, David Palmer (Wen Zhang), Hannah Palmer (Trevor Holbert), and Jerrod Palmer; grandchildren, Jaxon Palmer, Lincoln Edmondson, Elizabeth Palmer, Isabella Palmer, and Gunner Holbert; brothers, Dirk Palmer (Ruth) and Torre Palmer (Valerie), and his mother-in-law, Ann Baker. The family received friends at the Church of Latter-day Saints, 6846 Short Lane, Gloucester, Va. 23061 on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 2-2:45 p.m., followed by the service at 3. The inurnment will be private. While cut flowers are appreciated, the family would prefer those that can be planted to enjoy longer.
Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
