DAVID C. MYERS

David C. Myers, 73, of Hayes, died Saturday, June 6, 2015, in Schenectady, N.Y., after a short illness. 

David was educated in Scotia, N.Y., and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after 29 years. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and volunteered with the Bread for Life ministry. He was a loving, compassionate and very giving person.

He always put others first. You have departed from us, but not left us. We will continue to celebrate your life and legacy and always miss you.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Genieve Myers; grandmother, Helen Pacunas; grandfather, Simon Pacunas; uncle, Edmund C. Pacunas; aunt, Anna Pacunas; father-in-law, Vid Clopton, and first wife of 39 years, Carol L. Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian A. Myers; son, Sean Myers; daughter, Danielle Campbell and husband Jason; grandchildren, Grant, Summer, Gabriel and Gavin; step-children, Heather Mason and husband Jeremy and children, Jeremy, Wes and Shelby; Dr. Jason Hart and wife Pam and children, MacKenzie and Nicholas; brother, Edmund Myers and wife Marlene; niece, Christine Myers and her daughter Mercedes; nephew, Craig Myers and wife Diane and their children, Clarissa, Nick and Julie; nephew, Kevin Myers and his son Zachary; mother-in-law, Lillian Clopton, and a host of friends.

A service of Christian liturgy conducted by the Rev. James Cowles was held at 12 noon Friday, June 12, 2015, at St. Therese Catholic Church. The family received friends prior to the service on Friday from 10-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
