DAVID C. CROCKETT SR

David C. Crockett Sr., 84, of Mathews died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at his home.

After 42 years, he retired as a senior electrical designer with Newport News Shipyard. He lived on Gwynn’s Island after his retirement.

Mr. Crockett was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Shirley Callis Crockett.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Adams Crockett; his three children: son, David C. Crockett Jr. (Candice), daughters, Sabrina C. Arrington (Joel) and Deborah C. Rogers (Herbie); three grandchildren, Emily Claire Crockett, Caitlyn Rogers, and Jesse Anne Rogers;  two stepchildren, Jimmy Adams and Jill Barrineau  (Tres); three stepgrandchildren, Justin Adams, Brittany  Worrell, and Rachel Edwards; brother, Morris Crockett (Barbara), and sisters-in-law, Ruth Crockett and Kitty Crockett.

Visitation was from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, 160 Main Street, Mathews, with a Masonic memorial service at 7 o’clock. A private burial will be at the Gwynn’s Island Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital—Greenville, 950 West Faris Rd., Greenville, S.C. 29605. Other donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
