DAVID A. EVANS

David A. Evans, 64, of Hudgins, Va., formerly of Richmond, Va., passed away on September 22, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor H. Evans. David is survived by his father, John R. Evans Sr.; his siblings, Kimberly Jo Evans (Becky), John R. Evans Jr., and Mark R. Evans (Patricia), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

David attended Lee Davis High School, class of ’80. The Beatles inspired him to pursue playing the guitar, and he quickly became a talented musician at a young age. As he grew, he began playing with local bands and recording with other artists. This passion developed into lifelong dedication to music, with David even mentoring and teaching younger musicians well into the later years.

David’s professional career started in sales before he eventually joined his family’s restaurant Seawell’s Ordinary in Gloucester, Va., where he worked as their chef. He and his mother worked alongside each other and had great joy in doing so. Upon the 17th anniversary of Seawell’s, David retired to Hudgins, to pursue other interests. He maintained the family’s property, he continued cooking and caring for his rescue cats, enjoying his motorcycles and going to local eateries.

David was a caring person, who enjoyed time with his parents and made time to care for his Uncle Glenn and Aunt Evelyn Hill of Richmond. David will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
