Dave Jones seeks seat on Mathews BOS

Dave Jones, 58, of Mathews is one of five candidates who are contending for a seat on the Mathews County Board of Supervisors in the upcoming November election.

Jones said he is a Republican and a pro-life Christian conservative. He and Mike Walls are the two Republican Party nominees on the ballot.

Additionally, he said he is pro-business and pro-jobs and is for educating youth without progressive policies. He said further that he wants to preserve Mathews County’s “great history” and promises to serve with honesty, integrity, and transparency.

A Gloucester native who grew up in Northern Virginia but has deep ties to Mathews, Jones said he joined the U.S. Coast Guard while still in high school and completed basic training before his senior year.
