Dates announced for 2024 Art in Transit contest; top prize $1,000

Dates have been announced for the upcoming fourth annual Art in Transit judged competition, sponsored by Bay Transit and the RAL Art Center, Kilmarnock.

The winning artist will receive $1,000 first prize and have their work displayed on Bay Transit bus.

Artists throughout the Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula and Richmond areas are invited to participate in the contest when the call for entries is announced in January. The deadline for entries and art submissions to the RAL Art Center in Kilmarnock has been expanded to multiple dates next April to encourage participation. Artists will be able to submit their artwork beginning Saturday, April 27, 2024, as well as Sunday, April 28, or Monday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to noon.
