Mathews Dance Studio held its annual recital, “Hey DJ,” on May 10, with 89 dancers participating and an audience of more than 500 filling the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. The show, under the direction of studio director Rachel Morris and instructor Haley Beatley, featured tunes from the 1950s to today, including such favorites as “Piano Man,” “Rock Around the Clock,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and the finale “Too Sweet.” Among the dancers were, from left, Addi Griffith, Beatley, Jayda Thomas, Kaylee Jones, Hannah Davis, Annabelle Morgan, Kaitlyn Ball, Kat Murphy, Morgan Stearns, Morris, and Marissa Hudgins.
