Dale wins GOP nod for clerk

Incumbent Gloucester County Clerk of Circuit Court Cathy Dale, at a Republican party canvass held Monday, won the Republican nomination for the post in an election to be held in November. Dale became clerk last year after the retirement of Margaret Walker.

Dale outpolled Amy Pierce for the nomination. A release from Gloucester Republican chairman Ashley C. Chriscoe said that of 504 votes cast during the canvass, held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 62.7 percent or 316 were for Dale and the remainder for Pierce.

“Thank you all for your amazing support,” said Dale, “the turnout yesterday was incredible and I am grateful for each of your votes.”

Amy Pierce congratulated Dale on her win and said, “I want to thank everyone who came out to vote and supported me on my journey.”

The canvass also produced board of supervisors candidates, all unopposed, for the November election: incumbents Mike Winebarger and Phillip Bazzani for the Petsworth and York District seats, respect...
